CDTA Posted February 22, 2014 #1 Posted February 22, 2014 1. During days where there are regents, how do the school trippers there operate? What about half days, planned and unplanned? 2. In the B100 schedule it says there are school trippers, however, the map doesn't indicate this. Are there trippers on this route? In general, in situations like this, is there someway to confirm this? 2a. On the Q50 schedule it says school trippers run from 2:50 to 3:02. Yet again, the map only lists the one at 2:50. ??

In general, in both BC and NYCT, school trippers aren't listed on the schedule for the most part. Sometimes the school is along the path of the bus route, and there is no need to mark anything (like the Q54), while others have but aren't on the schedule. In reality, the MTA is running this for the students, so the stops at the schools have the schedules, and along certain stops along the main route (if not all). For the most part, you really wouldn't know unless you go to the designated school, or trek around the area. As for your last point, maybe it's an error, or it's just that the buses are extras in case of an overload, so people won't just think there's only one bus.
P3F Posted February 22, 2014 #3 Posted February 22, 2014 There is a yellow B100 bus stop sign on Stuart Street next to Marine Pk. Middle School. That is probably your school tripper. (I've never seen any buses stop there anyway, and that sign has been there for years.)
NYSubwayBuff Posted February 24, 2014 #4 Posted February 24, 2014 I have a question about school trippers, what happens on those days during the semester when there is no school e.g. snow day Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

Simple as that.

He/she just pulls off from the depot at a later time. Some runs have different schedules when schools are open, and when they are closed

I used to do the b100 and the school tripper was from midwood HS (Bedford and Quentin) to the subway (E16 & Kings Hwy It was literally one stop. the B100 had about 3 schools along the route and included the one mentioned at marine pk school
Cait Sith Posted February 28, 2014 #10 Posted February 28, 2014 In general, in both BC and NYCT, school trippers aren't listed on the schedule for the most part. On the paper schedules, they aren't. On some of the schedules at the bus stops, there are some that says "operates on school days only".
