7211 is in Service, heading to flushing as I speak. I'm not sure what it's hooked up to, but it's out there. It's about time they get this thing in service with all the problems it had.

It's 7211 - 7220 with 7899 as the C car.

Ya know, when I tell you these things you shouldn't just tell the whole forums. jkjk I was gonna post about it from my phone until I saw you already did.

Seriously though, shocked me when I caught it first at Grand Central. I see the 188s pulling in and I figure maybe I'm seeing 7822 or whatever that new set is, then I see 7211 on the first car and I'm like whaaaaa. Definitely didn't expect to see that one with all the problems it apparently had.

The ENTIRE R142A fleet is going to be converted to R188s,  The R142's will have FIND displays installed.  As for where the displaced R62A's will be going, watch for some interesting fleet assignments over the next few years.  Eventually, I see all lines except the 2 and 5 running mixed fleets of NTT's and R62/62A's.  The 62/62A fleet should be rebuilt with AC propulsion, digital signs, automatic announcements, and CBTC capabilities.  I'd also like to see the entire subway fleet made FRA compliant.

In a word: NO.
