Number? I remember last month that 7832 had some sharpie on its MTA Logo, but now its cleaned off.

EDIT: And also I remember a few days before the 30- day acceptance test ended that 7818 had scratchiti on the doors..

7811 set. It was an interior door. It looked brownish maybe they took it off but it was the first car. Ugh, vandalism! I also saw a homeless man with bags too. Breaks my heart lol Edited by queenspapi

We need cameras on the trains... Smh "this is why we can't have nice things".

Atleast they're making an effort to keep them "new".. The R62A's have a ton of vandalism that don't get cleaned. The R188 atleast they would clean them off.

BTW, back in February I was riding the 7822 set, and saw that 7829 was filled with like table tops and crap that can't be described..

Speaking of the R62A's, oh god, they're a mess! So much scratchiti all over the walls, doors, windows, seats, even rollsigns!

By the way, will they change the purple Corona Yard sticker to the green Westchester Sticker?

Westchester Yards sticker has always been yellow...and most likely they will starting late this year-mid next year once most-all of Flushings R62As are back on the  (6)  <6>, remember.. flushing didn't recieve the R62As from the  (6) till 2002 and didn't change them to purple till late 2003-early 04 , credit of the photo goes to whoever took it but it was likely taken 2001 or 2

They aren't changing the stickers. Look how the R62 on the (3) have orange stickers which stand for the (4) . (Livonia yard, which serves the (3) , is blue). Also 1917-1926 still have red stickers from the (1) and have been Corona's for quite a while.

2056-2060 and 2151-2155 have full cabs on both ends of each set. Don't be surprised if you see these on the (6) next. It seems half the R62A consists on the (7) have both former single sets on both ends now.

The (6) has the following sets:

1660-1665

1666-1670

1711-1715

1721-1725

1731-1735

1741-1745

1746-1750

1760-1765

1766-1770

1831-1835

It seems every time I look out my window I see an R188 passing, meanwhile every time I go to ride the (7) I always get an R62A and rarely see an R188 pass in the other direction.

Those singles 1917-1926 are still assinged to the (1) , those are lent to the (7) , they are eventually going back to the (1)

Green is 239th

Black is E180th

Corona had two yard stickers

Black with a purple diamond was Westinghouse equipment

Yellow with a purple diamond was GE equipment

After the (7) was 100% R62A's they made the yard sticker completely purple

As much as i think it'd be nice to have the yellow yard stickers for the 6 again, i don't see them changing it. I mean look at the r62s. They were left orange which was for the 4, but the 3 had blue stripes. I would figure they are going to just leave the ones that goes to the 6 purple and change the cars that goes to the 1 to red. It isn't like the r62a's are going to be split, so there's no need to change the colors back.. Imo.

Every source I can find has it the other way around

It ran for 1 day went BIE 4 times then yanked off the road. Has not been on the road since.

I remember that day. Only rode it from Hunterspoint Ave to 74 Street/Broadway.

I could have sworn I've seen it a few more times from my window. It looks pretty obvious at night when you see a dim-lit set with one bright car going by.

The R33s that ran on the (2) never had their yard stickers changed from black to green when they moved from the (5) to the (2) and the R26/28/29 "salad trains" that moved over to East 180th Yard retained their green stickers until the end of their service lives.

Why even go through all the trouble changing the yard stickers? They never did it when the R62s moved over from the (4) to the (3) and the R142s/142As never got them at all. I think it's time to just phase them out completely.
