LegoBrickBreaker101 Posted March 2, 2016 Share #6251 Posted March 2, 2016 I could be wrong but I think 7866-7876 is the testing set not 7860-7870. Could have sworn that I saw 7860-7865 in service two weeks ago. Also one of the converts is testing what I would assume to be CBTC too. Let me just find where I wrote the number... Its 7271-7905-7280. It's 7371-7380, not 7271.

Its 7271-7905-7280. 7866-70 and 7860-65 are paired with each other. 7855-59 and 7871-76 are in service. 7860-70 hasn't been in service since summer 2014. 7371-7915-7380 has CBTC installed but it is in service.
Around the Horn Posted March 2, 2016 Share #6253 Posted March 2, 2016 It's 7371-7380, not 7271. It's definitely 7271, I have a pic of it

Lance Posted March 3, 2016 Share #6256 Posted March 3, 2016 Probably dirt and dust from the tunnels and tracks. The trains haven't been given a wash in a while.

A solid fifth of the R160s are permanently stained at this point, chunk of 142s/142As too.

I noticed that too and a lot of ENY R160's including the ones on the have a lot of patched up spots on the interior as well. Now imagine how these trains would look if the graffiti wasn't covered up right away. It would be pretty reminiscent of the 1980's. I saw a R46 tagged up on the express track at Parsons Blvd. Jamaica took care of it because I caught the same set on the during the week.
ttcsubwayfan Posted March 5, 2016 Share #6260 Posted March 5, 2016 Remind me again why they're using acid to remove graffiti? Did the R38, 40, 42 fiasco teach them nothing?
trainfan22 Posted March 5, 2016 Share #6261 Posted March 5, 2016 Remind me again why they're using acid to remove graffiti? Did the R38, 40, 42 fiasco teach them nothing? The NTT are entirely stainless steel so its not an issue, the R32s have no structural issues at all despite them getting acid baths in the bad old days.

Most of CI cars have them and Jamaica cars have them bad. For example; R160's 9113-9117, 9848-9850, 8767-8763

Saw that train on the southbound express track making its way to Queens by 23 St . 7541-7550 is with 7932 lol. But yes, you are correct. I saw 7540/7931 in Corona Yard today. And 7526-7930-7530 is operating on the Hudson Yards shuttle with I believe 7245. 7525 is in service with 7456.
