The singles on the Grand Central (SS) are out of Livonia not Westchester.

Forgot to correct Westchester to Livonia (for the (S)) and 1836-1840 to 1826-1830

7471-7925-7480 seems to have been pulled out of service for CBTC testing now too. 7 trains were running express to Manhattan and 7480 was wrong railing on the Manhattan bound track and stopped at 111th street. The CBTC cabinet was open. 7860-7870 was in the yard. I wonder how long 7480 will remain OOS if they also have 7860-70 pulled out too. Or maybe 7860-70 will go into service, but I heard that set will go into service in 2017 so who knows.

What portion of Flushing is left to convert to CBTC standards?

Just passed by Corona depot on the LIRR. There was an R188 set at the back (didn't catch the numbers) that looked like it had a red diamond around the <7> at the side destination sign, similar to the LEDs on the R62A. Can anyone confirm this?

Corona depot on the LIRR is not a thing... if you meant Corona yard, that makes more sense, and as for LED's sides of the R188 destination signs, that would be completely redundant because they already display Flushing express.

CBTC converted sets can be run without CBTC. There is no reason to hold a set out of service if it is roadworthy and not being used for testing.

I'm not sure what they were doing with it. But seeing as how they were doing the same tests that they would normally do with 7860-70, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't just use 7860-70 unless they are planning to pull this particular set out of service as well, maybe just so they can have a converted set test too. Maybe it will be in service sooner than 7860-70 but 7471-7925-7480 was OOS today as well.

It's 3 and a half sets. Also, 7581-7585 are on their way to Pitkin yard right now.

Then I guess 7561-7934-7570 must be entering service today? And also if 7581-85 is already on the way to Pitkin, 7571-7935-7580 must already be at Corona. Unless there is some kind of delay.

2066-2070, 2076-2085 and 2091-2095 are all on the (7) as far as I know along with the singles. As for R188's, 7561-7934-7570 wasn't in service today and hasn't been in service to my knowledge. 7571-7935-7580 was not at Corona so maybe the set that's at Pitkin is 7571-7575? Also R188 7480 had a red flag in Corona today so they definitely are planning on keeping that set OOS, at least for now. I got what will probably be my last (7) train RFW on 2081 today, at least Manhattan bound.

7811-21 is usually in service. There is a video of it testing for CBTC and it is one of the sets with the orange sticker (in fact, the only factory set with the orange sticker). 7471-7480 and 7860-7870 seem to be the main testers with some sets being taken out of service occasionally for additional testing.
