These Upper East Siders don't know how good they have it smh a brand new state of the art system with 3 new stations and you're complaining about old cars? Please, y'all can't survive without NYCT

Yeah what they fail to realize is that Jamaica Yard had those R46’s for 30+ years. The (R) riders have been dealing with them all these years.

the R46s are departing jamaica very fast.

only 10.4 sets of R46s are left at jamaica (for (R) service)

numbers are:

5498-5501, 5506-5517, 5526-5529, 5570-5577, 5606-5613, 5618-5625, 5630-33, 5638-41, 5694-5697, 5702-5705, 5750-5757, 5798-5805, 5818-5829, 5834-5837, 5858-5861

Wouldn’t that be 12 trains of R46s?

(N)(Q)(W) will miss the using R160 and get R46 as the replacements and will experience more dwells at stations, delays and slower runtime. Coney Island Yard will make the exterior look super clean when they go through the wash.

(E)(F)(R) are taking R160 and saying get these R46 away from us we are tired of using them right (F) and (R), (E) briefly use them before.

Meanwhile (A) are glad to still use R46 and some R179.

Just like (4) and (7) took R142A from (6) and got R62A. Queens Yard are taking the New Tech Cars.

Seems like the riders from 96th to 63rd are bitching about this

I know! Bunch of prima donnas! What’s wrong with the vintage warmth of an old time pizza parlor? One of the best places to be in this city, if you ask me.

Wow Coney Island is already starting to show some of the R46’s. There was a set on the (N) not too long ago that really shined. So it looks like some R46’s are finally getting a bath.

Glad to hear about that, because Lord knows the prima donnas at Jamaica Yard were treating them like crap for years. Now, let’s just see some more of those side destination signs get fixed and we’re good.

So if so are all the Siemens sets leaving CIY or will there be leftovers?

I’m pretty sure there will be leftovers. While all of CIY’s Alstom sets weren’t enough to make up for the loss of the R46s, I would think they don’t need all of the Siemens sets to make up for them.

Yeah. There are only 10 R46 8-car trains left in Jamaica and 20 Siemens R160Bs in Coney Island. If all these cars are switched out; then the spare factor outside Jamaica will be too low

So I guess that’s going to leave 100 Siemens R160Bs at Coney. Jamaica can’t have any R46s left when Queens Blvd CBTC goes live, so those 10 R46 trains (80 cars) will be departing for Brooklyn pretty soon with 100 more Siemens R160s taking their place.
