To revive or not to revive old threads?

Ethan777

Question

Just asking. Let's say I encounter this very old but interesting thread and I would like to post a burning question regarding the topic but the last post made was a few years ago? Its bumping if I suddenly make a reply there right? What should I do then? Do I make a new thread altogether or just revive it?

The topic filter in most, if not all forums is set to 90 days. Any topic older than that will not be shown in a forum unless the custom filter is extended. If you can still see a topic on the forum list then most of the time you can just reply to it. But please use good judgement and common sense. If you feel like your topic is similar but also different please feel free to start a new topic.

There a term for that... It's called necroposting, and is frowned upon, no matter what discussion forum you go on...

Which includes here, so please don't resort to reviving old threads....

Instead create a new one, with fresh thoughts/ideas/points of views.... That, you can (and are highly encouraged to) do.
