Fred G 63 Posted September 4, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 4, 2008 Nice work as usual, A. I like that you caught an M3 in all its yellow splendor.B)
Joe 781 Posted September 4, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 4, 2008 I like that shot of the M3's. Those are my favorite cars, I remember when I was younger and at my grandmothers house (whose backyard directly borders the Far Rockaway branch tracks in Woodmere), the train would come blasting by, reading "Metropolitan Transportation Authority" ad nauseum. Good times.
Guest Charles Posted September 4, 2008 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2008 Great shots! Exactly what are the differences between the M1 and M3s?
Pablo M 201 35 Posted September 4, 2008 Share #6 Posted September 4, 2008 Exactly what are the differences between the M1 and M3s?Nothing much really, except the years they were built. The M1/As (M1As are Metro North), were built from 1968 to 1973, were numbered 8200-8377 (MNRR), and 9001-9770 (LIRR). The M3/As (M3As are Metro North), were built from 1984 to 1985, and were numbered 8000-8141 (MNRR), and 9771-9944 (LIRR).
