R188 7857 Posted July 23, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2014 For all of you who don't know, my camera is not a DSLR. It is not a Sony, Canon, or Nikon camera. It is a rather a Samsung WB250F - a point and shoot camera that is in my opinion pretty bad (although still way better than my old Sony camcorder). I decided to attempt to take some night time photos at Mets Willets Point after going with my family to watch an orchestra. Taking pics with this camera at 10:30 at Mets- Willets Point is harder than it seems..... Daytime photos in this post, night time photos in the second post! Anyways, to check out more photos please visit my Flickr, as not all photos were posted! Enjoy the show, and be sure to look for captions that I put in my photos to know more about the reason I took it or the reason it's like that! 7241: If you guys didn't know, I took a picture of it's cab three years ago during it's R142A life. Since the old photo was uploaded to photobucket, you may check out that photo by going to the Gallery. SAM_0230 by r188_7857, on Flickr SAM_0232 by r188_7857, on Flickr Literally the worst condition EVER, the floors have air bubbles (meaning it pops up in spots) and the seats still have crap on it, plus all the vandalism is still visible and the train is dirty as hell. SAM_0234 by r188_7857, on Flickr Not even a plastic covering... SAM_0235 by r188_7857, on Flickr That rust though.... SAM_0237 by r188_7857, on Flickr A preview of the cab during it's R188 life. I'll try to ask the T/O for the shot w/ the door open next time. ttcsubwayfan Posted July 23, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 23, 2014 Nice shots! Ugh... I had the misfortune of catching an R62A with broken A/C last week... was pretty awful. Being the law abiding citizen I am, though, I didn't pass into the next car Pretty pathetic how they couldn't even touch up 7241.

It's like that on every conversion set. 7230 has air bubbles in the floor too, and yet I don't see them on the aging R32. (Let's hope they get fixed up during SMS) BTW, I just walked out the next station into the next car.

If so that would explain why they look like absolute garbage. Pity, I like the R142A better than the R142... the rounded windows look ugly as hell. Walking to the next car was not a choice, given that I was riding from Rector to South Ferry

Why I said the frames suck, because they look so bad.... The interiors look terrible as well..

I open up the windows, and I set by the end of the car with my foot keeping the storm door open to get some air in. Helps out, learned from the days when A/C was lucky.
