I think it might be interesting to shake stuff up a little & change the line designation for every subway line?

 

Might not be practical for long term, but what if just one weekend a year they mixed it up?

 

I think it could be fun. :cool:

 

They could put up temporary maps in all subway stations.

Ha! That would be pretty funny, but it would probably make a lot of people angry... maybe they should screw around in Times Square station or another popular tourist spot and see how long it takes them to realize they've been fooled.

Won't really hurt me... I only take one line most of the time But still, it might hurt millions of others who don't pay attention. As for the rest of us who do, we can only laugh.

It wouldn't be confusing because it would be totally changed, not just the numbers or letters on the train, but the maps signs etc, and since it would only be once a year, plenty of warning could be dispensed before designations & signs were changed.

Well it would be fun for railfanners & the train crews who are stuck with seeing the dame damn rollsign over & over all the time!

 

But yea, a random one might be fun too, especially if there are no G.O.'s in effect that confuse people You know the station, you know the line, you know how many stops, so it would only befuddle the tourists.
