davemackey Posted July 23, 2017 Share #304 Posted July 23, 2017 I'm told it's 56 buses which would take us to 17240.
davemackey Posted July 26, 2017 Share #305 Posted July 26, 2017 As of 7/25 we have buses delivered 17185-17200. All to Lakeland. VINs from HP014658-014673.
46Dover Posted July 26, 2017 Share #306 Posted July 26, 2017 Buses 198-200 are probably still at Piscataway waiting to be shipped

Fan Railer Posted July 27, 2017 Share #309 Posted July 27, 2017 So apparently the remainder of the CT order is going to be Detroit powered starting with 18036. 17185 is the demo unit and is going to NJT for training.
davemackey Posted August 15, 2017 Share #310 Posted August 15, 2017 Lakeland 17186-17201 are VINs HP014658-014670 and 014672-014674, When MCI comes back from its break they will begin manufacturing 2018 model buses - today is August 15 and that's the changeover day for the model year.

davemackey Posted August 16, 2017 Share #312 Posted August 16, 2017 I heard Lakeland was supposed to get up to 17205. Those may be the last four 2017 buses. Lakeland is supposed to get 56 buses in this order, so they will probably also get the first 35 of the 2018 buses which would be 18001-18035, then the production on the Daimler-engine buses begins.

davemackey Posted August 22, 2017 Share #314 Posted August 22, 2017 I heard from a source that 10 buses have arrived at Piscataway Six of which have passed state inspection within the past two days - they are VINs 14680 and 14682-14686. They should be on their way up to Lakeland if not already there. This puts us at least to 17207.

davemackey Posted August 25, 2017 Share #316 Posted August 25, 2017 As of yesterday, through bus 17221 was sitting over at ADD in Piscataway, all lettered for Lakeland. 17221 carried a unit number of 14694, so that accounts for the missing VINs. 17199 through 17221 are HP014672 through HP014694 inclusive.

Tranzitfan81 Posted September 10, 2017 Share #318 Posted September 10, 2017 When will the Transit garages start seeing these buses? In South Jersey, many MCI buses are falling apart ( especially the Camden ones) and there has also been a shortage. Both Newton Avenue and Washington Twp have NABIs running on unusual routes. Many 409 trips have NABI buses running all the way to Trenton and a few weeks ago there was one on the 316! All of the Cumberland, Salem County destinations have seen an NABI ( 401, 402, 408, 410). The 406 sees NABIs 6 days per week now primarily during the evening trips. Then Turnersville borrows both MCIs and NABIs from Camden as well. The New MCI buses of course would be welcome, less breakdowns which would mean less borrowing.
davemackey Posted September 14, 2017 Share #319 Posted September 14, 2017 I heard Lakeland was supposed to get up to 17205. Inspected through 17233, registered & in service through 17220, with the exception of 17208 - any word on that coach? No 2018 coaches have shown up yet to my knowledge. I don't even think they're being built yet.

(Update: 17238-17240 all were inspected this morning. Those should be the last three.) Who's getting 18001? I got a few of those shots myself (probably from R36 Coach, who I always seem to miss lol). And yes, we are expecting 3 more buses and that should do it for us. BTW, we are keeping 4 of the D4000s and 1 D4500, 8761 Edited September 25, 2017 by 46Dover
Around the Horn Posted September 26, 2017 Share #323 Posted September 26, 2017 This is a kind of a stupid question but is there some sort of list with who is getting which buses?

Well, the way it usually goes (with MCIs at least), the private carriers get first dibs making them somewhat a test subject when NJT Proper gets around to getting their orders
46Dover Posted September 28, 2017 Share #325 Posted September 28, 2017 Heads up. 17240 has been delivered to Lakeland, the last bus of our order. Now, let's see what happens from here on out
