Too expensive to repair. 4000 per rear sign. 4009 was removed, every bus after the demo came without the rear sign. The mta rejects are going to be removed also.

Perhaps it's a cost-effectiveness thing too then?

I don't see (MTA) removing them... Can i assume (MTA) has more money to spare???

The MTA rejects are the NJT D4500CT fleet from 7101 - 7113 i believe. I may be wrong. But, its NJT that owns and operates those buses, so THE D4500CT (2008 Model) which had the rear destination sign will be removed, as well as the future MCI orders, being the 2001 - 2005 MCI replacements.

I don't see them removing the signs from the MTA rejects. Those buses will likely see retirement as-is because of their extremely high mileage. The only reason they were removed/getting removed from the CNGs is because they weren't a part of the original spec sheet, along with the costs to repair and replace.

Is there a thread yet for the new deliveries of diesel cruisers? I do have some VINS for those who like to see that data.....

16001 GP014021

16002 GP014074

17001-17003 HP014227-14229 so these buses, 17001 and up, are officially 2017 buses.

Use this thread. Changed the title for the purpose of unifying it for an all-in-one kind of thing. First page also updated.

VIN questions relevant to this thread.

Can anyone confirm that there is indeed a Bus 7362? I don't think there is. The only way the sequence of CNG VINs works is if that bus is omitted and I have no idea where it would go. There's no pictures, I tried googling "mybusnow vehicle 7362" and came up empty, and here's what is relevant.

FP013698 is 7359

FP013699 is 7360

FP013700 is 7361

FP013701-13720 is 7215-7234

Also, I have the 14 VINs for the DesignLine CNG buses... if anyone has old SAFER reports so we can match up the license plates to the VINS, that would be extra helpful.

The plates are: 7201-OYA6711 (I think this is CC665058), 7202-OYA5322, 7203-?, 7204-OYA6727, 7205-OYA6712, 7206-OYA6924, 7207-OYA6935, 7208-OYA6935, 7209-OYA6961 (VIN is confirmed from SAFER: DC665062), 7210-OYA6975, 7211-OYA6976, 7212-OYA6977, 7213-OYA7932, 7214-OYA7945. All these plates come up dry in AutoCheck and similar searches.

The unmatched VINs are: CC665054, 055, 057, 059, 060 (all 2012 buses), then DC665061, then 063-068 (the 2013 buses). All those VINs are confirmed as having vehicle history on AutoCheck so they have to be the NJT buses. I don't think DesignLine placed these anywhere else.

There was no 7215 for DesignLine.

VIN of 17017 confirmed as HP014243, so we can presume the others between 17004 and 17016 fall into pattern. The next license plate issued (AT-102N) is probably bus 17018 with the VIN HP014244.

Rats, that's one part I forgot to fix.

I believe the last bus is indeed 7361.

DeCamp's run ends at 17120.

Academy has 17121 and up. No telling how many just yet.

17122 is the highest to be seen so far.

Only a few more buses till the delivery is done for this year, as its being said that up to 17184 will be the last bus for this year.

Remember that NJT is behind on the order, thanks to the Christie shutdown for a few months. They also have an option for 75 additional buses each year. So 17184 may not necessarily be the end...

It's being said that the Academy units awaiting delivery has Clever Devices.

I would assume that they will head down to Toms River.

Well that's perfect, since I'm in toms River five days a week. Also, another video was posted of 17121, and I can confirm that the VIN on that one is 1M8PDMBA2HP014373.
