As you know Coach USA New Brunswick had to make room for the NABI buses from Academy, so they moved some of their D's to offsite storage. Two side effects to this: one bus (8767) wound up being destroyed by fire in the process, and Coach is now finally starting to run its 2020 cruisers out of New Brunswick.

Also, 21015 inspected today.

Anomaly to report: 21031 delivered to ADD over the weekend but it's still tracking in Pembina.

There's one bus tracking under a unit number in Winnipeg that has a confirmed Pembina VIN. Now I'm confused! And it takes a lot to confuse me.

Is there a coordination between the two plants on a continous VIN scheme? I thought having the order built in two places would produce two or more different series of VINs.

Yes, there is. Right now, everything is running under the old VIN methodology, and I so far have tracked as high as Unit 16222 (which will be a Pembina build). The only difference is the plant code "W" for Winnipeg (which begs the question why aren't the first three digits 2MG, signifying a Canadian product?).

However, when the new VIN indicators take effect (prefix would now be 1M8D2W91 rather than 1M8PDMNA) they may go to the New Flyer sequence numbers. They seem to coordinate those well between the four plants New Flyer uses, so to throw one more plant (Pembina) into the mix wouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Ironbound Update: All but six units of 21001-21028 are in service. 21003 just got back from an several night stay at Johnson & Towers, a Cummins repair facility in Egg Harbor Township.

Howell Update: All units either in service or inspected/prep for service except 21063. The Howell buses are 21029-21073.

21064, 21071 and 21072 were inspected today.

Meadowlands buses are for the most part built but it's going to be a long process to get them all to NJ. Wayne buses are on the lines now.

VINS now verified through bus 21204.

My guess is that some of the lav units for Meadowlands have already been built. Is there any way to tell from the VIN if it's a lav unit?

21063 is sitting in a lot in south jersey along with most of meadowlands buses and some low ironbound buses. Up to 21117 is in that lot on the boarder of sicklerville and turnersville.

The last bus to go into service at Ironbound is 21016. Ironbound is done with new cruisers. Good point about the hybrids... what is happening with them?

Oh, one more thing: the VINs of the 21000 series coaches are scrambled from about 21111 onwards. Have fun, spotters.....

Since our last update a week ago, several more of these buses have gone into service. Ironbound has all theirs, Howell is now missing about three. The first Wayne bus, 21191, has tracked at ADD. There are tons of buses at ADD, Sicklerville lot, and CMF, waiting to go into service. Nothing has tracked in Winnipeg this week. Oh, and the new MCI VIN formula (D2W91 instead of PDMNA) is soon to be showing up on the tail end of this order, with unit numbers from 75000 and up (dovetailing with existing New Flyer orders). I think the scrambled VINs are going to be falling back into place around the 21140's, so we shall see.
