Happy 2022. Punch list on the 2021 cruiser order:

  • Still need to confirm Rockland Coaches allocation. Many unmatched VINs and fleet numbers, plus buses are still not registered.
  • 21338 missing
  • 21359 and 21361-21367 still not in service yet
  • 21366-21367 probably have their plates but we'll find out soon

Other than that, bring on the 2022's. (TURN ON THE TRACKERS MCI)

21338 missing

My theory is that this is because 21338 is the last Pembina unit of the 2021 order. 21339 and up are all built in Winnipeg. Maybe it's just a holdup or mistake at the Pembina factory or something, like maybe they forgot about it since it's at the tail end of their 21000s portion.

Can't be at CMF until it's inspected. Only record on the vehicle is NJT taking title to it.

Just taking a guess on its whereabouts. So if it's not at CMF, and not at ADD, where would it be?

22056 delivered

The VIN is 1M8D2W910NW104830. I found VINs for the next 32 vehicles, which takes us to bus 22088 - the last bus in the order to be assigned to NJT. So I am thinking this block of 22056-22088 is destined for one NJT garage. This bus BTW is the 4000th bus built by MCI for NJ Transit.

Demo testing at Camden D45 CRT LE charge, is there a push for this model over the xcelsior charge?

No, they are just testing it out. Newton Av is still getting 8 XE40s. They want Newton Av to be an all electric garage. Being 2022 is the last of the D4500CT, it make sense to test the LE at Newton Av with the chargers. If NJT pushes an LE Newton Av and Wayne would get them first.

Ok, here's what's been inspected so far from Rockland. Unit number constitutes last 5 digits of VIN.

21202 - Unit 16250 - AX-945N
21208 - Unit 16262 - AX-957N
21209 - Unit 16252 - AX-947N
21212? - Unit 16255 - AX-950N
21215 - Unit 16264 - AX-959N
21217 - Unit 16268 - AX-963N
21218 - Unit 16260 - AX-955N
21223 - Unit 16266 - AX-961N

Remember 17065? It got inspected today and has new plates (OYB7406). Going to be running out of Newton Avenue.

Meanwhile the Rockland Coaches 21000's all have their plates. Just need fleet numbers for some of them.

Finally 17065 is on the road, it has only been sitting in Camden for almost a year! It took a nice long trip on the 317 today.

That's interesting for the D45 Charge; I just can't see those buses on the 317 doing that super long distance though.   Meanwhile, I heard the XE 40s will be delayed until the end of the year.
