Train crash at Altona leaves nine injured

Police say a passenger train travelling east, towards the CBD, had stopped near the crossing when a Geelong train smashed into it from behind.

Looks like it's hit it with a bit of force.
It's a bit of a strange one considering the Mainline between Newport and Laverton is straight and very flat.
You would have plenty of time to see and to react if Rule 1 section 3 was followed correctly.

Might make tommrow interesting. I can't see them running every train via the Altona loop. Which is single track except for one passing loop. I suspect V/Line trains(Which use the Mainline all the time) Metro isn't as bad as all trains run via the loop on weekends.
