BM5 via Woodhaven Posted August 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2014 So, I went to Washington DC for the time period between Thursday and today (arrive at like 9:30 PM). I have over 200 pics (not only bus pics, but with attractions, the metro, and several videos, but those are for later). These are just a few pictures, starting off with some pictures I took from Thursday in the Riverdale- New Carrollton Area in Prince George's County, MD. 2009 Gillig Advantage (Unknown Number) on the 21 at Beauty Island, Riverdale, MD by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2006 Gillig Advantage 63162 on the 21 at Brightseat Liquors by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2006 Gillig Phantom 63162 Not In Service by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2006 Gillig Phantom 63145 Not In Service by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2006 New Flyer D40LFR (Number Unknown) Not In Service by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2001 New Flyer C40LF 2386 Not In Service by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2001 New Flyer C40LF 2370 Not In Service by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr My hotel was on the NW side of DC, and I was in the center of the city, at Union Station. I decided to walk along the route at first, and mainly seeing X2 and 80 buses along H Street (these two would become my home routes for the time being). 2008 NABI 60-BRT 5422 on the X2 (WMATA metrobus) at Massachussetts Avenue NE and Interstate 395 by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2008 NABI 60-BRT 5404 on the X2 (WMATA metrobus) at H Street/ 5 Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2008 NABI 60-BRT 5416 on the X2 (WMATA metrobus) at H Street/ 8 Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2008 NABI 60-BRT 5410 on the X2 (WMATA metrobus) at H Street/ 9Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2008 NABI 60-BRT 5412 on the X2 (WMATA metrobus) at H Street/ 9 Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr Then I went back to Chinatown from my hotel, to see what there was to eat, and snapped these shots... 2008 NABI 60-BRT 5414 on the X2 (WMATA metrobus) at H Street/ 9 Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2007 New Flyer C40LFR 2819 on the X9 at H Street/9 Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2007 New Flyer C40LFR 2810 on the X9 at H Street/8 Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr 2008 NABI 60-BRT 5416 on the X2 (WMATA metrobus) at H Street/ 8 Street by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr Now, this was from yesterday. qjtransitmaster Posted August 25, 2014 Share #5 Posted August 25, 2014 Mmm X9 pretty brings back memories when I used to take it. I also remember the 21x I chased after storming off the MARC at new Carrollton I jumped on the bus as it left transit is so good to me.
DailyDose Posted August 25, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 25, 2014 Those NABIs are beautiful. They just started service, I believe, last time I was in DC.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted August 28, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted August 28, 2014 Nice Thanks! Mmm X9 pretty brings back memories when I used to take it. I also remember the 21x I chased after storming off the MARC at new Carrollton I jumped on the bus as it left transit is so good to me. I like it though, the suburban buses signed as X on non-wmata services in the area actually use the expressway via HOV lanes. Especially in the North Virginia Area, there's one that only runs every 15 minutes at most between Pentagon and Mark Center (the 7M), although those had like 4 riders on at most (but from the schedule, I guess it's more geared towards reverse commuters). Those NABIs are beautiful. They just started service, I believe, last time I was in DC. I don't mind them, but I prefer the C40's and Orion VII CNG's (lol).
