realizm Posted September 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2014 NEW YORK (PIX11) – A new license plate appearing on some fleet vehicles belonging to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is not spelled correctly. The reference is to the “Transporation” Authority. It’s missing a “t.” It is not an abbreviation of the MTA’s name. Although some have speculated “transportation” didn’t fit in the space on the plate. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles says it was not an MTA error. The state is trying to figure out the problem that occurred between the designers and manufacturers. The order called for 908 plates, according to the DMV. They are being replaced, although an exact number of replacements (or the cost) could not be given. Article and video can be found here.
