ConcourseExp Posted January 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2015 The Rockaways had a lot of trouble over the years like Hurricane Sandy destroying the and lines, bringing back the , the Q113 LCL, now the Q114 LTD and actually none of that is trouble. But the thing that needs to be added in the Rockaways, is NICE service to Rockaway Park. People might want to go to Rockaway Park from Jones Beach and might not want to travel a lot. What do you guys think?
trainfan22 Posted January 2, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 2, 2015 Long Beach is MUCH nicer than the Rockaway beaches, there's no demand for this route IMO.
Q43LTD Posted January 3, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 3, 2015 Facts. It's called taking the N33 to the Q22. Or take the to Broad Channel for the Rockaway
B35 via Church Posted January 3, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 3, 2015 This route arrives late getting from Long Beach to Far Rockaway, and you think it should be extended all the way to Rockaway Park???? Also, this idea that you're gonna get people traveling from beach to beach via mass transit is so far-fetched, it isn't even funny......
Bill from Maspeth Posted January 3, 2015 Share #5 Posted January 3, 2015 NICE is on a shoestring budget as it is. You really expect Nassau Co./Magnano/NICE to pay for a service where all the passenger has to do is transfer (free) to the Q22?
NY1635 Posted January 3, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 3, 2015 I don't see the appeal at all. I have been to the Rockaways a few times and there seems to be more demand for getting into the mainland, than another island. Not sure why you want the N33 to go all the way to Rockaway Park when people can transfer for the Q22, or the A as many people pointed out. FamousNYLover Posted January 3, 2015 Share #7 Posted January 3, 2015 n33 don't need extention, but need to add more buses like to around 10:50 in both direction with 2 buses.
Q43LTD Posted January 3, 2015 Share #8 Posted January 3, 2015 Plus, it wouldn't be called "N33" if it were extended west to Rockaway Park. The stint on that peninsula is very quick through Long Beach (despite the fact its closed door in LB) and Atlantic beach.

No, n33 is closed door in City of Long Beach where Long Beach's West Loop/Shopper's Special Operates. n33 Far Rockaway pickup until West Beech St/Brookline Av, then drop off/pickup begins. n33 Long Beach open door in Far Rockaway, then drop-off/pickup begins in Atlantic Beach, then drop-off only after Connecticut Av. Hound Posted January 3, 2015 Share #13 Posted January 3, 2015 NICE idea if it's in the fantasy world. not. Why extend it only to Rockaway Pk? Let's just make 1 route from Point Lookout to Flatbush & Nostrand Ave.-lol

nostalgia Posted January 5, 2015 Share #15 Posted January 5, 2015 There's nothing about the closed door policy in Long Beach on the N-33 interactive map. It may be printed in the paper timetable, but it's not on the website.

nostalgia Posted January 5, 2015 Share #17 Posted January 5, 2015 Same situation with the N6(X). There's no mention of pick up and drop off restrictions in Queens. NICE has dropped "paper" timetables from the website.

FamousNYLover Posted January 6, 2015 Share #20 Posted January 6, 2015 Sometimes clicking on "download PDF" schedules are best because for example, n20/21 website don't indicate which buses are n20 or n21 or n20L.
nostalgia Posted January 6, 2015 Share #21 Posted January 6, 2015 The download button isn't in a prominent location. There's no reason to suspect there are boarding restrictions so there's no reason to download.

I always trust PDF/Paper schedules more over the website.
