MotormanMike Posted September 16, 2008 #1 Posted September 16, 2008 http://www.mta.info/nyct/hr/index.html check under open competitive exams open for filing This is the link to check what's open in the way of jobs with the MTA. I wish all of you guys and girls that want to come down here and work the best of luck. If I can answer any questions for any of you , ask away. I just checked , filing for Conductor , exam 8094 is open until September 23rd , so HURRY if you are interested ... $17.50/hr to start , city residency NOT required ... $25.00/hr after 3 years (not bad!) ... Promotional opportunities are to Train Operator or ATD (assistant dispatcher) ... You take a written exam and a medical. No college required. I think the conductor school car is around 2 months or so , not 100% sure on that ... check out the link and good luck

Paul P Posted September 18, 2008 #10 Posted September 18, 2008 It's good to see all of you applying, but if I would, my problem would be the waiting time after the test...
Oscurida Posted September 23, 2008 #11 Posted September 23, 2008 I have applied on the Sept 17th, I'm excited as well. Have a question regarding Motermanmike's post on that PassBooks Conductor. Is the latest version from 2004-2005?
Locomotion69 Posted September 23, 2008 #12 Posted September 23, 2008 I have applied on the Sept 17th, I'm excited as well. Have a question regarding Motermanmike's post on that PassBooks Conductor. Is the latest version from 2004-2005? I have the passbooks catalog right in front of me. Yeah,it was published on 2004,$19.95. You can order it online at http://www.passbooks.com or by calling 1-800-645-6337 or 1-800-632-8888. Good luck!
Y2Julio Posted October 9, 2008 #14 Posted October 9, 2008 I applied for the test on September 3rd, can't wait till the test. Don't care if it takes years to get called, if I get it, I will quit my current job in an instant. @Oscurida: The T/O and C/R exam books from that series, how useful are they?

If you are taking an open competitive test there is NO need to waste money on any study guides. These tests are extremely easy and mostly common sense. They don't expect you to know anything about the job yet hence the common sense part.

I borrowed them from the NY Public Library and used the copiers at work to make copies for myself lol

Y2Julio Posted November 14, 2008 #20 Posted November 14, 2008 The waiting is going to drive me crazy lol
