Heh.. I'm 23, but my problem is that I honestly don't know where my HS diploma is anymore!! I guess I have 3 months to find it. :\

Perhaps call your HS if you can't find it to get some kind of proof (maybe a duplicate)

and yes I am registered for the test as well

I'm considering applying for the 12/6 test as well, but I'm an active college student. This means my college life will come to an end should my MTA endeavor be a success :\

Look choose what you think its best, MTA or if not there can be better stuff then the MTA, like tech, health or something, and make Better cash, and so on. If I were you I wouldnt even dare dropping college,c uz by going to college and moving ro career, you not only wasted time in edu but you may lose a chance to make yourself enhance your life..

and besides, you dont need to drop college, u can still work with the MTA with something you are doing in college..

whats your plans after college, your dream job, what do u like, besides MTA?

You dont need to follow my suggestion, just being helpful m8

Thanks, I appreciate your suggestions. I was considering holding out for the next C/R exam and completing college (I'm 21, for what it's worth). I mean I'm studying computer programming but being a railfan, I couldn't exactly pass on this opportunity.

Thinking things over, I've decided to just wait for the next one and just finish up what I started in college :(

How much college you got left? If its only 1-2 yrs youre probably not going to get called in to actually work till after youre done, just FYI think you should know that b/c a lot of people think (incorrectly) that they will get hired very soon after they take the test

Im so into computers my self...

Have you ever thought of being a computer specialist with the MTA, working with NTT cars, computers and so on mate :P ?

@Dave- ah Like Father like son, very nice :P and now its just Son lol as in u

Hey dave let me ask u sumin, I wanted to do Trade skool for computer Tech/Networking from Feb- June 09, can I still do it and do part time conductor, or it has to be full time C/r? Thanks seeing that you are gd at this :(

Ok you MUST be able to work C/R as full time and be able to work ANY hours. However go for Computer Tech because it takes them over 1 Year from the Exam date to call you with a perfict score.

really? but i thought it takes a few months, and people who make High grades will get a call early.. =|

and I choose my hrs of C/r? seeing that the DCAS says 40hrs a week, so I can put 40hrs bet mon and fri and leave sun/sat off right?

NO it means you will work at Least 40 Hours a week whenever the crew assignment section want you to work. You will work more then 40 Hrs. You can request if you want to work MID,AM,PM and days off as a wish list but its whatever they give you and you can't really get it changed until you are able to Pick a job. The starting times on all tours Mid 10PM to 3:59AM AM 4AM to 11:59AM PM 12:00PM to 9:59PM. You can finish at any time. Like you can be AM tour but be assigned Extra board at 10AM and you can pick up a whole PM Assignment at 1PM. So now your on the clock from 10AM to 9PM.

hah im guessing he either held caps lock when he typed that or it was an emphasized no, like it brings back memories from the days of extra list or extra extra...

At least judging from what another C/R told me about those days...

and to KcCityStar when PBD says "you can stop at any time" that means they tell you when you stop, it can be "forced overtime" and its just a case of "fill out your late clear slip when you're done", correct me if I'm wrong PBD, I'm just basing that off what I've been told by C/Rs and T/Os...

When I typed NO emphasized it because transit is not going to make it easy for you when you get hired . They don't take in acount your personal life when they assign you jobs. Those that know me know I'm layed back not too much stuff gets to me.

No you can't stop whenever you want it just mean you work 8+ Hours a day nothing less.
