Is there a reason why R12 5760, R15 6239, and R33WF 9306 haven't been used on fan trips recently? If so, will they ever run again?

R12: Probably because it usually only runs with the old SMEEs

R15: same as said above

R33WF: Well, they just restored 9307 so they might want to let it run for now to test it.

Funny how they were uncoupling the cars one by one and then re-attaching them. People, including me, were running from side to side to take photos. I took shots with my iPhone and your first shot is similar to mine except it doesn't include any R142s. Also, it was nice of the crew at 207 to restore 9307 and 9312.

9310 was the repainted one.

I was tickled to see they got the original doors on both of those cars, too. They even got the Identra on the front of 9307, and those original rollsigns are beautiful to see. I think 6609 was rocking one of the filler signs that Flushing-borrowed R17s got, as the R17 original rollsign did not include 7 FLUSHING on the print. Interesting to see that too. Moving the number plate down on 9310 was also cool to see. They just need the rubber gasket surrounds on the storm doors and windows of both those cars, and then the exteriors will be fully restored to previous appearance.

Bravo to the museum staff and shop staff in any event. Lots of great folks involved, and every time I see a photo of Steve or Derrick at the helm of those cars, I know some skilled and deserving hands in control.

You've had a decade of riding the R9 to Queens Plaza (anyone else remember the first year when it went all the way to Continental?). 96 St is MUCH MUCH more viable a destination for tourists and shoppers. The only reason it went to Queens at all is because there's no good place to turn it in midtown Manhattan without interfering with regular service.

So, I recently had this idea with possible museum train consists. I want to hear your thoughts on this.

*9307, 9308, 9310, and 9343 were removed from work service in 2017. 9307 and 9310 were made operable and are preserved, but 9308 and 9343 remain unused.

**Cannot run with the other cars unless some from the consist are not running on a trip.

Consist 1- R26's 7774-7775 (red scheme), R28's 7924-7925 (green scheme), R29's 8678-8679 (red scheme), R33WF 9308 (Blue Subway Series Scheme), 9343 (red scheme)*, R36ML 9542-9543 (red scheme)

Consist 2- R32's 3350-3353, R40A 4460, R40A's 4480-4481, R42 4465

Consist 3- R10 3189, R16 6305 and 6339, R30's 8506, 8481, and 8522 ALL added to the Train of Many Metals**

Now a few questions:

Also, any plans to move the R26, R28, and R29 sitting in Concourse to 207 for restoration? They really need a repaint and not a scrapping.

Is it feasible to put an R110 car up on display? They're just sitting there gathering dust.

When will R12 5760, R15 6239, and R33WF 9306 run again? They haven't ran since 2013-2014 at the latest. Couldn't they just transfer one of the TOMC Redbird pairs to the museum in their place?

Will R17 6895, R21 7267 (sitting in Concourse), and R36WF 9582-9583 get scrapped anytime soon? The R17/21 are rotting to pieces, and the 36WF pair was separated from the Redbird GEL train, and is sitting in Unionport.

Will R36ML 9542-9543 get restored to operable status? The pair should be coupled to the R26/28/29 I mentioned earlier.

I don't have an answer but I agree

The R110A I would put as an exclusive exhibit at the Bowling Green Abandoned Platform

Those are some really good questions. but since I don't work for the (MTA) and that I'm not affileated with anything relating to the museum trains, I can't answer these questions, Wish I could though

The redbirds are my favorite cars but...... The R26/28/29 ones stored in Concourse shouldn't be added to the museum fleet, there's more than enough cars from the Redbird era in the TM fleet, I remember when these cars were in service, there wasn't much of a noticeable difference between them from a rider's perspective. I believe the popultion was different, some cars had Westinghouse where's some had GE, and some cars lights went on gaps where's other's didn't, that was about it in terms of differences.

I'd be OK with another museum outside of the NY Subway system getting those cars, but the TM doesn't need them IMO. Plus the TA doesn't have a infinite amount of yard space, when their time comes I'd rather see an 62A from the TS shuttle pool saved for the museum.

The R26/R29 pairs are only surviving pair of their respective car class. Yes there is barely any difference but I mean, many other Redbirds were restored.

Another question I forgot to add: Will R12/R14 combo in 207 in MTA livery get restored?

If ya want a representation of how they look, here ya go:
