The majority of the 1996s have been scrapped already, but about 160 of the buses were pulled by the TA a year or so ago to be overhauled as part of the "Program." These were the buses in the best shape, and they were thoroughly fixed up to last a few extra years. None taken. I understand. From what I understand and clarification from people who work for the MTA that I've asked, those buses are scrapped. Have you heard otherwise?
