However, that unit is still in-service. Not scrapped.

Of course it's not a unit to be scrapped, it's a recent demo bus as a test for those 45ft commuter buses in 2019-2020 😤. This MCI will have at least 3 more depots to be tested out of.

What he is saying is this is not the place for discussing active fleet buses. This thread is for retired and scrapped buses.

With one 2015 XD40 as #7430(Casey Stengel) that has been crashed in the rear by a Dahlia Charter J4500CT while operating the Q20A a year ago , was it being repaired or scrapped ?

Scrapped and written off. However it will remain on property as it was involved in a fatal accident. Similar situation to the LFSA that has not returned to service in years and it's still on property. However, unlike the LFSA, the XD40 is reportedly beyond repair

Seen 6476 in eastchester last night. Missing the right side lower panel, sitting next to RTSes and O7 CNGs that were reported scrap

That doesn't mean scrap. A handful of LFSA and other newer buses were put in the same area were there for months before returning to service.

How about bus #7442, which got into an accident 2 years ago with a fire truck in Astoria, Queens? Was that bus also written off?

Yep

#5299 is the LFSA(MJQ) that's getting scrapped due to it's damage cause by a stolen truck in Manhattan around 2013.

It’s been on the roof at Quill for almost 5 years now with tarp over it. The damage actually isn’t all that bad.

5299 should have been repaired and put back in service after the court case was over. It was practically new when that accident occurred.

The bus driver did die in the unit, so that might of prevented the bus from going through repairs sooner. It happened in 2014 so 5299 was around two years old at the time.
