NOOO 7701! That was a good one!

Tanks are expiring this month (and some may have expired last month). Any O7 CNG remaining in service is really on borrowed time. Anything below about 7775 or so has to be gone by the end of the month, and the remaining will have a bit more time but must be gone by the end of the year. That is also why the D60HFs in storage are being reactivated---as temporary holds until the remaining XN60s come in. The O7 CNGs have 15-year tanks. I suspect that the current C40LFs and newer CNG buses have 20-year tanks (some may have 25-year tanks), ensuring that the tanks should outlast the bus.

But the part that I'm confused with is that normally there's 240ish 40 foot buses in service at WF. Currently there's around 260ish 40' footers, but when the remaining 90 O7's are retired, that's about 90 buses short. So my question is, what goes in place of those 40' footers? More C40's? I understand that the XN60's are replacing the O7's but those 60' footers aren't gonna see service on the 40' routes.

I don't know, maybe I'm missing something lol

I was thinking the same thing with that many buses being retired at once west farms is indeed gonna be short but then again the bx36 is supposed to be fully articulated so maybe we will see more articulated buses being used especially on the bx36 route and also Jackie Gleason is still sending buses to west farms as they get ready for their articulated buses

What will happen to those CNG units not being scrapped ? Are they going to spring creek like the 2001-2003 Orion VII or to be used for the L train shuttle like some of the RTS’s

At Eastchester. 6430,6452,6459,6476 never to run again. 4314 was there too, back was covered.

So 6430 is gone as well as 7430. So that now leaves 430, 2430, 3430, 4430, 5430, 8430 & 4300-4309

O7 hybrids already being retired?

As for the O7 CNGs not scrap, it may simply be that they're not yet to processing them for parts. I'd be surprised if they ran again as their tanks are expiring.

The Green sign ones are due for retirement soon so that makes sense.

Btw 6614 was in an accident earlier and is likely due for scrap soon. Not 100% confirmed.

I can't believe 7758 is on this list. I remember being on it in 2010 when it hit and killed a woman on Tremont Ave in the Bronx.
