mehki311 Posted June 20, 2019 Share #2238 Posted June 20, 2019 Let's just wait until the 2004 orion vii 1-gens finish retiring before the 2-gens start to kick the bucket okay?

It's not that big a deal. They retired some 02-03 D60s before the last of the 1999-2000 buses fully retired.

mehki311 Posted June 21, 2019 Share #2246 Posted June 21, 2019 So if it's true about 6681 and 6685 being scrapped that means the start of the end of 6490-6689 units am I right?

Not necessarily. They are just getting rid off the worst of the bunch. In 2020 when the new buses arrive, then it's a wrap for the Gen 1 Hybrids. It makes no sense to fix a bus with a major problem that's 15 years old. Those 2004s have another good year of service left in them. But if there's a major problem with one of them, its serves the MTA no good to fix a bus that won't make it pass the next year.

Bus doesn’t have extensive damage. Pictures via Staten Island Advance. Only bumper damage. Definitely OOS for a bit.
