MTA Bus Operations: Scrapped Equipment List

I feel it's worth mentioning that the final 3 2004 Orion VII HEVs were removed from the roster today (6432, 6445, 6473. Granted 6445 didn't do anything for going on 2 months now). That's a wrap for the 2004s, next up is the continuation of the retirement of the 2005s.

Is it fair to say that both 8155 and 6473 are scrap now?

I can’t speak for 8155 since it could go either way (probably best for an employee to speak to that...) but 6473 yes. Also not sure how 6432 can be out when it’s no longer registered to a depot lmao

Is 6606, 6633, 6640, 6644, 6645, 6650, 6653, 6668, 6675, 6679, 6680, 6683, 6684, 6686, 6689 still active? I don’t recall anyone mentioning them as scrap but lots of bus moves sneak by me so I’d thought I’d make sure.

Also, are there any other 2005 Orion VII buses at Manhattanville Depot left besides the ones I listed above?

The units listed are still at MHV for now and in-service

I can personally confirm 6683 it was on the M10.

6585 is apparently scrap. Someone tell me if this is true.

Not true. It’s still on the roster, it was out this past rush hour and it doesn’t show any of the indications of a scrapped bus (well, yet at least). What you leads to say it’s scrapped?

6686 is on the M11 (or 12)

I can confirm  that #6633 is currently out doing a run on the M3 to East Village 8 ST and 6683 is operating  on the M10 to Harlem 159 ST along with 6686 doing a run on the M11 to West Village  Abingdon SQ and lastly the infamous  #6606  is out rn on the M116 to West Side Broadway.

It’s gonna be a while before Fresh Pond and East New York starts scrapping their OG’s.

Yes a good while lol I could be wrong but I have a feeling that FP will be the leader well the last depo to hold on to the 2005 OGs I could be wrong it could be ENY but idk it's just based on my experience on that.

So far only East New York scrapped only 1. Maybe as more buses break down or worse performing buses will hit the scrap yard.

Fresh Pond on the other hand could continue sending buses as needed to JFK/LGA and worse performing buses to scrap. But right now the main concern is Manhattanville as they got about 20 or less to go.

Yes they got around the teens of 2005 OGs left which is ironic but they gotta go I'll make sure I fan them before they leave MHV too it's just sad to see them go off fast like that but they have too.

why is MV rushing to retire the 2005s when the other depots haven't even started the retirement process?

The recent NovaBus LFS order freed up space along the Bronx and Staten Island with their Next Gens. Moving those next Gens over to MHV resulted in retiring the 2005 OGs in the process.

Some Depots still have Orion OGs like JFK, LaGuardia, Far Rockaway, Baisley Park, Fresh Pond, East NY, Grand Av. Which bus model will replace them?

1) Grand Avenue doesn’t have any.

2) Grand Avenue should be pushing out their NG’s when the 2013 XD60’s come in and they will probably get sent to Fresh Pond and East New York.
