3778 looks like it just came out of the laundry machine! Bus looks completely washed out.... No stickers on the bus, only a washed out blue stripe, and a paper by the rear windows that says 3778 and a Queens Bus Map inside. Saw the bus turning towards Grand Avenue Depot. The sign on the bus said Not in Service.

It’s heading towards Grand for a repaint. A lot of MTA Bus hybrids are getting second repaints.

6655 from LGA is going to scrap.

A few of the 2005 Hybrids didn't see or barely saw any service before getting sent to scrap after being transferred to LGA. Were those intended parts buses like 6430 or actually died upon getting to LGA?

no its just LGA doesn't know how to maintain buses, 8750 is the biggest example of that.

Disagree.  LGA quality of maintenance has grown by leaps and bounds.  How do you expect them to properly maintain hand me down worn out buses from MHV depot that ran in Manhattan all their lives that should have never been transferred in the first place?  They should have been scrapped.  Same for the junk that NYCT transferred from FP.  Those were worn out too and some have already been scrapped.

If it weren't for politics and news media interference, the best of the 1999 RTS' would have been retained for LGA and JFK instead of worn out high mileage hybrids from NYCT which also had to do bustitutions most weekends.

The ex FP buses that went to the JFK/FR & ENY are pretty good IMO, they just have dirty windows making them seem worse than they are. As an Passenger other than the windows I have no complainants about those ex FP buses.

No NYCT sends their junk to MTA bus. It makes no sense for LGA to get buses just for them to get scrapped shortly afterwards. These buses weren’t sent over to MTA bus for no reason now. It’s apparent that JFK and LGA needed more buses for service. Remember back when JFK received the 1999/2000 D60HF’s. They ended up having to be sent back to NYCT bus because they were unreliable and JFK received 2002/03 D60HF’s instead which lasted there until the XD60s arrived. I know a couple of 1996 RTS’s caught fire at LGA but they were technically the oldest buses in the system and if I recall correctly wasn’t there something with the cooling system or engine that made those buses more prone to overheating compared to the later RTS buses?

JFK got more than LGA and only sent one 6500 to scrap. JFK maintains their buses better, they got the worst 6500's but they fixed them up and they run. Imo they should have gave Baisley park the 6500's instead of LGA. LGA could have gotten the 3600's from BP.

Or just give them all to JFK....
