New to Forum - Track Worker

Recommended Posts

Hello. New to forum but was hired May 2014 as a Track Worker. As I've been working on tracks, I haven't encountered too many female Track Workers like myself. However, when I do see the occasional female Track Worker, I greet them appropriately and offer a friendly smile. Hopefully, soon I will see more women on the tracks. C'mon women we can do this! We have to show the guys we are just as strong to carry the tools, hookup on the rails, and use the handheld and/or power tools.

Welcome aboard. Sometimes when I see cute riders or employees, it makes me nervous and shy around the girls. Carnivores or vegetarian girls, when I see cute female, it makes me nervous and blush.

Congratulations on hopefully passing probation this May.

I was in Track from 92-94 (Capital Days Bronx) then 3rd rail from 94 on. It took years before seeing a female track worker and there was only one female 3rd rail employee back then (now we have 2)

Thank you! I passed my probation. I'm interested in 3rd rail. Do you need to study prior to taking the 3rd Rail (Promotional Exam)? I heard there is a book. Do you know how I can get a copy of it?

I'll message you the instructors number.

There are classes being held.

You do need study for the exam to become familiar with our tools, equipment, material and procedures.
