Nah, sealed/expunged records do not exist to them.

Only the NYPD has access to those records luckily the MTA doesn't. I remember doing the NYPD process and they told everyone that closed and sealed records are opened to them, and people still hid their past and got the boot.

Thanks for the information.

You need a leeter from your PCP stating your diabetes is under control.

And you will be forced to take a medical every 6 months.

That I don't mind plus I have an appt to have my blood drawn next week so should have results and note before I get appt for medical

For those of you who are looking to defer, don't do what I did.  I went in today to do the medical, with every intention of deferring to the next class.  I went to every counter they sent me to and asked what I needed to do, no one could give me an answer, all they would do is just give me a nasty look and rush me to do more paperwork.  Spent all day there again, and finished my medical.  When I went to hand in my stuff, I asked the lady at the counter, again, what do I need to do to defer.  She had no answer, and decided to finally ask someone who was in charge for conductors.

When that lady came in, she looked at my paperwork and asked why I bothered to do the pre-employment, and the medical, if I wasn't planning on starting on the 22nd.  -__-  I told her that I asked every single station I had visited, even the doctors who check you out, and no one could give me an answer, and just rushed me to do more paperwork.

Turns out, when you came in for pre-employment, all you had to do was just decline the offer, and be done with it.  You then would have to go to the DCAS building in manhattan and essentially put yourself back on the list for the conductors list.  If you happen to have finished medical like I did, it's good for 90 days.   She told me that I should come in, sometime in the first or second week of may to put myself back on the list and that I might still not be able to get on the next class rotation, but it's what I would have to do.

Good luck guys!

Thanks for the info - did she say how long you have to put yourself back on the list?

I went in for my preemployment and might have to defer when called for the medical as well.

Just received notice today to go in for final processing April 18th for station Station agent with start date of May 14th. I’ll be doing that until conductor calls me. Good luck.

I was thinking of that but it seems like a really boring job lol

I deferred last week and attempted to get my number restored today.

For those who are planning to defer their appointment in person: You will be given a phone number and the location of DCAS. The phone number is to check for the list number they have reached so far for this exam; I was told they were in the 200s. If your number is less than this, then they have passed your list number and your next step is to arrive at that location to restore your list number. As my number is in the low 300s, I can just come in next Monday to start the pre-employment process. Keep in mind that it can only be Monday of the week; you can't just come in any day on that week.

This is the information I received from the person who answered the phone. Hope this helps.

The phone number I was given leads to the OLHA (that's what the receptionist wrote; no idea what that means), so I don't think it would be of much help. Weren't you given a number to reach her after you deferred?

When you say you were told somewhere in the 200’s do you mean for the April 23rd class or for pre-employment? Im low 300’s as well

I'm in the 700's and have not received a pre-employment letter. I heard someone mention a few pages back that they sent out pre-employment letters up to 1000.

Has anyone with list number 700 or higher receive a pre-employment letter?

With regards to deferring, I have done this with the FDNY test. All I had to do was send an E-mail to FDNY stating that you want to DECLINE. Yes, that is the words they use "decline" and not defer. Then to get back on the list I had to contact DCAS to reinstate my list number.

What I am thinking is it may be possible that we don't even have to go down to MTA to decline (defer), we may just have to send MTA an E-mail saying that we want to decline.

What do you think? Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just shoot them an E-mail instead of having to wake up at 6AM and head down to Brooklyn for something we can just do with an Email?

You email requesting to decline and then go to dcas and reinstate.
