This is the Virginia Railway Express, once of two commuter trains which run in the DC area. VRE serves the southern towns and suburbs to DC. The north is operated by MARC, and serves the northern suburbs and towns. Trains runs weekdays only on MARC, mainly during rush hours (AMTRAK provides off peak service, only for monthly users).

I took the Yellow Line to Fort Totten, the last stop at all times, with the exception of rush hours, in which some trains run to Greenbelt (further up the line; which is the last stop from the Green Line
