Roadcruiser1 Posted January 19, 2011 Share #77 Posted January 19, 2011 It's still intact. I just thought I would extend the to NJ south of the City Hall loop instead of the , but then I forgot about the costs to extend the to the Manhattan Hudson shoreline in the first place.

Rell Posted January 21, 2011 Share #81 Posted January 21, 2011 That would not work because the (8) would not all fit in one tunnel. Well it's actually possible, because they are basically changing Nereid Av-bound trains/trains leaving Nereid designated as (5)s to (8) and running them local with the in Manhattan, and express from 180-149. It'd theoretically be the same amount of trains on the WPR line. The schedule would have to be worked at, to run smoothly with the current between 180th & 3 Av as well as the in Manh, but it's not impossible.

Wallyhorse Posted June 22, 2011 Share #97 Posted June 22, 2011 Hmm interesting topic, I wonder which one will I create Line: Extension of the Streets that it goes under: 11th/Went End Avenue Stations: 11/West End Avenue 96 Street: 86 Street 80 Street 72 Street: Passageway to 59 Street 50 Street 42 Street 34 Street 23 Street 14 Street-Chelsea Piers 11th Avenue is too close to the river for that to work. I would do this as a 10th Avenue line extension of the , with after 8th Avenue-14th Street the line going in a north-northwest direction before reaching the first 10th Avenue stop, 21st-23rd Streets, with 31st-33rd Streets-10th Avenue (straight shot walk from either exit to the by-then open Moynahan Station, possibly with a direct underground entrance) the next stop. I would have no 50th Street stop, but have one at 65th-66th/Amsterdam before a terminal at 72nd Street under the (1)/(2)/(3) OR perhaps a terminal at 96th/Amsterdam (which is on considerably higher ground than West End Avenue at 96th) with a walkway to the steps that had been used as part of the old (1)/(2)/(3) track access on the north end before the current entrance replaced that for a transfer from the .
