For anyone placed on medical hold, who do you contact once you've been cleared by your doctor or have the paperwork needed to show that you are clear to work? I cant seem to find a phone number or email address that anyone will answer. Thank you to anyone who can assist.

It should be Ms. Vargas at (347) 643-8218. I'm not sure if procedures changed due to Covid, but you should have been given your medical results from your doctor and bring it to 180 Livingston. If they're hiring people now for the August class, I would try to go back asap.

Contact them letting them know you need extras and they'll send you more by email

Does anyone know how to tell if you've been taken off the deferred list and placed back on the active list? I had deferred back in 2018 when they canvassed really far in advance and I was still on the west coast at the time, but I thought I had asked to be returned to the list not long after. My name always appears on the certification list when they update it for their pulls and I thought that meant I was off the deferred list but now that they're contacting people near me (I'm in the mid-1800s on the list), I'm getting paranoid about it. Is there a certain way to contact them and ask? I literally just filled out the paperwork for the track worker position last week, and it would be nice to be able to send it in for this while it's still good to go. Also don't want to have to wait for another round before being contacted because if I start as a track worker, it looks like I'll have to stay in it for a year to pass the probation period, even though the train operator is what I tested for and have been gunning for far longer.

If you are coming out on the certification lists it means u are actively on it. If u want to make sure contact dcas. I don't have the number off hand but I'm sure it's been posted in here.

You don't have to wait a year to go to train operator but it's always advisable to get a year in title that way if something ever happens or if you don't like the job for whatever reason you can always go back to your previous title.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Yeah, I figured I should be good if I'm showing up on the certification lists, but I also know how technical they get with all this and how easy paperwork can be mismanaged so I start second guessing. I'll try to contact them on Monday with the phone number and emails you guys listed. I really appreciate it.

And yeah, my plan was always to have the track worker as a back up after I potentially might have failed out of the train operator, but now the track worker might come up first and if I'm not included in the next round of train ops it could be 6-8-to who knows how many months before they get to me, and I'd hate to pass up the chance to at least start working in track while waiting. I'd want to finish that first year out of probation so I still have the track worker as a back up if I do indeed fail out of the train operator classes.

Have faith in yourself no negative thoughts about you failing set yourself up for success and only success don't let anybody tell you otherwise

Hey, quick question guys, I just got my canvass docs yesterday morning, I sent it out already but now I'm thinking that I didn't know what the "Pass. No" was and I sent it in blank as well as that I put that I was terminated from a job that was very short term (before my 90 day probation was over) due to the job getting rid of a bunch a people with no reason because the union was in arbitration with them and I'm freaking out that I put that in the docs as well. Can anyone give me some clarity? 14XX here

Pass # you leave blank if you don’t already work for transit.

Don't worry about the pass number that stays blank that only pertains to people who work for the MTA already.

Thank you I appreciate that. Also what about my whole termination thing? Is it worth worrying about?

That should be fine as long as it wasn't due to you failing a drug test, some altercation or something serious along them lines. If they ask you just write out happened that's all. From what I've read it doesn't seem like you did anything wrong.

Yeah it was a BS firing, I'll be more open, It was for the resorts world casino, the union was coming in to raise everyone's pay. So they started to find reasons to fire people from any position, also paying people off. I was fired for a dumb reason. I was just thinking that it would interfere with the hiring process because of a termination. Mind you this was like 8 years ago.

You're fine. If anything, the MTA will frown on you for not including why you were terminated.
