Javier Posted August 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 21, 2016 So this is a new idea that I've come up with that provides more flexibility on the in the Bronx as well as special trains that depart from 161 St. This idea reinstalls the tracks on the Ninth Avenue Spur that stops directly in front of Yankee Stadium. So basically, new tracks descend below to the spur from Tracks 1 & 3. This allows special trains to be stored without affecting service, as well as an extra increase of TPH. This also allows 161 St to become a more flexible terminal. Thoughts?
MysteriousBtrain Posted August 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2016 First of, you can't connect to the 9th Av spur anymore because the (new) Yankees Stadium is blocking the way the original el would go. Then there's the fact that the already has 3 yards that trains can be stored at. In my opinion, if we need trains for things like Yankees games, just take some cars stored in Jerome/Concourse and have them run nonstop to 161 St. I'm pretty sure that it won't be a problem to take a train from the yards and run it on the exp track to 167 St.
