QM1to6Ave Posted September 15, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2016 Geez, people seem to care more about getting a drink than getting a seat
Truckie Posted September 15, 2016 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2016 I don't think it's as much having a drink than it is the setting. It's a completely different culture than a standard passengers car. Unfortunately it's not coming at the best time. Example: Connecticut closed three ticket offices last week abolishing five jobs, numerous other state workers have been layed off, and there is going to be a fare hike in December. Well I don't know when it would be a good time esp. with a fare hike coming. Metro-North is already expensive enough for what you get. I have not been pleased with the lateness of trains to be frank. Every northbound train that I get is systemically late in the morning rush back to Riverdale and it seems as if they need to adjust the schedule. Has been going on for weeks. The other thing that peeved me was Metro-North workers power washing the station during the height of rush hour. So here we are with the stairs full of water and the workers telling everyone to watch their step as we try to get to our train. Like can't they do that during off-peak hours when the platforms are emptier? On top of that we then had to dodge water that was leaking all over the platform from the stairs that allow you to crossover. Just incredible how dense some folks are.
