LinkNYC, the 400 tablet-enabled Wi-Fi hotspots and charging stations which started replacing the city's public phone kiosks earlier this year, announced that it will remove web browsers from its tablets after repeated complaints of vagrants using the free service to view pornography in full view of the public.

I guess it just goes to show- sometimes no technology, is good technology....

They bypassed a blocker? The DOE better help them out. The blocking software on their computers is so good that they even blocked the website with all our grades on it once.

Blockers aren't all that hard to bypass, especially on school computers. I've bypassed blockers that were placed on the computers I used to use in Junior High & High School. Both Macs and Windows.

Seeing how the LinkNYC things are powered by a customized Android interface, well, it's not that hard either.

At the same token, I don't think any of them had a blocker in the first place. All it takes is one NSFW Google Search and you'll have your answer.
