Fan Railer Posted December 22, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2016 Could not have asked for a better day yesterday. Might daresay there was TOO much foam. Brighton Express Posted December 24, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2016 Call me OCD but I can't be the only one wishing that they had gotten rid of the incandescent headlight bulbs. Even the planes are making the switch to LEDs. They light up much quicker, and have a much brighter output.

Fan Railer Posted December 26, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted December 26, 2016 Call me OCD but I can't be the only one wishing that they had gotten rid of the incandescent headlight bulbs. Even the planes are making the switch to LEDs. They light up much quicker, and have a much brighter output. The design spec was probably frozen before the light spec could be changed. At any rate, I fully expect the R211s to come in with LED headlights. Remember though that the bulbs do have their merits. The Amtrak guys complain that the LEDs on their new ACS-64s don't heat up much and therefore can't melt snow or ice buildup during the winter.
