Deucey Posted April 27, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 27, 2017 1) As of 29 March, the Downtown Regional Connector tunnels are being excavated by TBM. link ICYMI, this project will connect three of the four currently operating light rail lines with the Red Line subway, Metrolink and Amtrak at Union Station. Once done, one could go from Long Beach to Azusa (San Gabriel Valley), or from Santa Monica to East LA in a single seat ride, and only make one transfer to those endpoints or to North Hollywood and Universal Studios. 2) The TBMs digging the Crenshaw line are done digging. link So this line runs by my old neighborhood, and will finally connect the Green Line with LAX. So even though it'll be two transfers, you'll soon be able to take trains from LAX to North Hollywood if you didn't fly into Bob Hope. Combine that with the MetroRapid buses, it's now possible to live in LA and not have to use a car... provided you have time to kill.
