BreeddekalbL Posted June 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 6, 2017 here we go again, what do they not get that when people say NO IT'S NO!http://pix11.com/2017/06/05/its-baaaaack-city-looks-at-congestion-pricing-again/
NY1635 Posted June 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 6, 2017 It's a terrible idea to pass congestion pricing at a time when riders are furious at the MTA for the number of delays, signal breakdowns, and service changes on the subways. All encouraging people to take mass transit will do is lengthen their commute time to over 2-3 hours because they're forced to take the buses and trains while the mayor a direct car ride from his home to Gracie Mansion. Via Garibaldi 8 Posted June 6, 2017 Share #4 Posted June 6, 2017 It's a terrible idea to pass congestion pricing at a time when riders are furious at the MTA for the number of delays, signal breakdowns, and service changes on the subways. All encouraging people to take mass transit will do is lengthen their commute time to over 2-3 hours because they're forced to take the buses and trains while the mayor a direct car ride from his home to Gracie Mansion. There will NEVER be a good time to pass congestion pricing because people want to drive and will make any excuse to justify that. Regardless of what is going on, the facts are congestion is worsening and we can't afford (literally) to have all of these people driving in. It's killing our economy and driving business away. We need congestion pricing along with deliveries being made at night after midnight. Too many delivery trucks clogging up the roads too.
BreeddekalbL Posted June 6, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted June 6, 2017 maybe in the next generation you will get congestion pricing cause most people do not favor it
N6 Limited Posted June 6, 2017 Share #6 Posted June 6, 2017 If the price is going to be $2.75 im not so sure that's going to reduce congestion. It'll still be cheaper to drive through Manhattan to get between NJ and LI. And there will still be bridge shopping because the crossings that are now free will still be cheaper than the MTA crossings. It's basically just "free" money at that price lol. Edit: Just saw this: http://nyc.streetsblog.org/2017/06/05/move-ny-campaign-says-toll-reform-can-bypass-albany-is-city-hall-listening/ No outer borough toll relief!? Wait, Ahh, that's because the MTA is a state agency and the home rule plan would essentially have to ignore those crossings.
BreeddekalbL Posted June 6, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted June 6, 2017 Cuomo should fox news deblasio again if he proposes this disaster plus i researched london's congestion pricing 11.50 pounds would convert to us $14.87 and deblasio better not pull his vision zero manuver on this like he does on SBS
