INDman 414 Posted October 5, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 5, 2008 As soon as I can, an R40-42 route signs is mine. Depending on how long they stay around, I might get an R32 side sign also.

Paul P 0 Posted October 5, 2008 Share #8 Posted October 5, 2008 Where did the rollsign and the controller of the R62 disappear from the list? I just had a thought of putting those doors to work, and if you could push a button and they actually open.
trainfan22 2,234 Posted October 5, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted October 5, 2008 why in the world are they selling R68 controllers? The 68's used to be in single car sets, every car had an MC they got rebuilt into four car sets and they took the MC out from the corner cab cars. INDman 414 Posted October 6, 2008 Share #16 Posted October 6, 2008 Wow, I called the MTA today about the R40/42 route sign to see if I could pick it up and save on shipping. They said no and with the $50 handling fee and shipping it comes to about $280. At that price I am just go for the R32 side sign since they said that really big items could be picked up and if the R32 sign is not big enough I'll go for the R40 side sign. For some odd reason a $50 handling fee is waived for items over $300, but those are also the heaviest.

I have to clear up some space, will probably pick up a MC, a front sign, don't know what else I can fit...trying to get the order over 300 to waive the fee and so I can pick everything up (do NOT want to pay shipping)... Some doors would be nice, I actually need new ones for my closet but I took the measurements and they'd be too big... But some interesting stuff they got there.. INDman 414 Posted October 7, 2008 Share #19 Posted October 7, 2008 If its over $300 you can pick it up? When I called today they were not clear on that, I sked if I could do so for a front sign and they said if I got something else I could.

But I have a feeling a 60 pound MC AND a sign would be better picked up than shipped Speaking of weight: are they selling any coupler adapters
INDman 414 Posted October 7, 2008 Share #21 Posted October 7, 2008 I really want an R32 side sign, don't most have the route?
SubwayGuy 2,321 Posted October 7, 2008 Share #22 Posted October 7, 2008 I really want an R32 side sign, don't most have the route? Yup thats correct. I want one too, but it's a space issue. Hence why I will probably go with the longer but narrower R42 sign if I get a side sign.
