Academy ending Atlantic City bus service from NYC/Cheesequake effective Sept 10

This Probably Happened Due To Low Ridership Back In The Day This Route Had High Ridership But When The Casinos Started Closing Things Were Really Looking Down For Them

Lol.... Commuter service to/from Cheesequake is going nowhere....

 

It's those aforementioned AC Casino services that are going bye-bye (to sum it up, they're doing away with their daily AC services)...

I'm surprised they still had those PABT-AC trips to be quite honest; Greyhound & the NJT#319 has a duopoly on that market....

I think Academy is still doing AC casino runs from other areas including Staten Island and Central/North Jersey, Burlington County.... just not Cheesequake, so i don't think Academy is pulling all out of AC but i could be wrong

Yes, they're not doing away with all their AC Casino services...

At the same time, the ones they're keeping afloat aren't daily services...

 

The Staten Island service & the Jersey City service are both weekend only services....

That Central Jersey service runs either every Wednesday or Thursday - basically, once a week....

 

They're trimming a lot of fat (a lot of trips) by discontinuing the PABT, Upper east side, and Cheesequake services to AC....

Academy ending this service after 23 years is just as much about them solving their logistical problems as it is about declining ridership and lower profits.

This sucks, Academy was my go-to with my family to/from AC.
