When I go in for my final processing will the date for the next training class be given to me that same day or will I have to wait to hear back in an email for a date

When they send you the email for medical/final processing, a PDF document with the date of the class you're being considered for will be included.

Going in for my drug test in a few days, my current job as a mail courier pays me $29.89 and once September hits I’ll be at $32 which my top pay at $35 (which would change within the next 2 years during the next contract) and my seniority is decent and I love my route especially where I live too! Now I’m here really contemplating wether it’s worth taking the pay cut or what. Im in a local aswell but im hearing nothing beats the city union. Is anyone else in the same boat as me who’s legit stuck. I wish MTA reached out too me before I got my full time position at my current job and now I got comfortable here too even leave to start over.. and btw with my current job I’ll be able to Transfer within the TriState and keep my same pay but with Trackworker I’m stuck in NYC . Just something I’ve been thinking longterm.

Sounds like you have some decent options. I like the idea of moving away in the tristate but still being able to work close to home.

What list numbers does the current class consist of ?

2 friends of mine got called in. One of them was in the 29*s and the other was in 31*'s. Im not exactly sure where the MTA are at now on the list, but my guess is mid 300's.

Three other people that I know of.  Alot of people were getting sent home early do to bad medicals.

Aside from an obvious drug test fail, I'm curious as to what does the medical check consist of?

Vision test

Hearing test

Blood pressure

Ekg test for heart

And a urine sample to check things like sugar levels.

I haven't gotten to this part yet myself, but this was info I gathered from previous posts in the #8600 and the #3600 hiring process threads

I wear contacts , I wear them daily.  Do they make you take them out for the test?

You can use the contacts for the vision test .. also during training they will send a list of available jobs ( aka location , hours , and days off ) and you will go in seniority order and pick one at a time.. if your a class of 25 they will only send 25 jobs so as people start picking there will be less jobs aka the last person gets whatever job is left they don’t put extra jobs on the list

The most recent person that posts here that was called was in the 380's which leads me to believe that the 400's are next up to bat for the August class as well as possibly September. So if I had to guess I'd say either the fall or early winter time. Its really hard to guess because alot of factors come into play, such as people who fail drug tests, fail  the medical/physical,  have to many unpaid tickets, people who found other employment already, and those who didn't even realise that they were contacted via email. But just keep in mind that so far the list has been moving at a nice pace so your chance of getting contacted this year is very very possible. I had received the canvassing letter in late February and im in the 400s and I am still waiting as well. Since someone posted that they got called in and were in the 380's, I think the 400s people are due to be contacted for August classes or september the latest. I will post when I am contacted to come in for the drug test when my time comes, And good luck!

Steve appreciate your quick reply. Definitely helps. Good luck with everything and maybe I’ll see you out there in the future

Hey I’ve been seeing and hearing that if you have any pending traffic tickets they must be dealt with meaning that most people will have to plead guilty to them in order to be considered for the job. Is this true even if you have 1 ticket or is it if you have a certain amount? Also if they do tell you that you must deal with the tickect do you get sent back to the waiting list? I really want to know before I get called for drug screening and the remaining pre employement process. And one more question if you do plead guilty how much points on your license is too much points to be considered for the position?

Yes plead guilty pay the fine and you don’t have to worry about points because you don’t need a Driver License for the title. Do it now so when they do call u there will be no delays.. good luck to you guys 💪🏾

Hello all , I got # 28 in the waiting list but hit a snag that I am clearing up to hopefully continue to be called for the medical part of the hiring process this month .

I understand from reading some posts that one gets a choice as to what hours and what days and at what locations one would prefer to work , now , I live in Coop city in The Bronx , please excuse my ignorance but what are my choices to pick from to work at somewhere near me or not too far from me .

This is some food for thought, mostly for the folks getting closer to the start of training… when it comes to your “x” pick (temporary pick location), at the end of the 2 week classroom training they will give you guys a list of available spots which are temporary. Based on your seniority within that class, you will be picking the spots one by one.
The actual locations are random. Some spots may be days and some may be nights. Some may be in the Bx, Brooklyn, or Queens… just have to wait and see what’s available. Be flexible because if you’re lower on the seniority list for the class, your chances get slimmer for what you want.
