To answer your question in a nutshell: After you receive your list number, it's a matter of a waiting game. If you do not have the CDL permit by the time they call you for the examination, it's okay. If you do not have your CDL permit by the time they call you for employment processing, you will be turned away. Even if you go to DMV the day before you report to pre-employment to obtain your permit and you only have the "temporary" permit, that will do, since they will pull your abstract up to see if you meet the requirements. Just note that if you got any points for whatever reason, those Defensive Driving Classes do not count towards point reduction. You just have to wait for them to expire. Good luck and welcome!!
