First weekday I know of:  No (Zero) R-32s were operated on (A) Friday, March 13.

Still Zero R-32s on (A) as of Monday, March 16.  Five R-46s on (C), four R-32s on (C).  32 cars (of 58), that's all left in use...

'Course, MTA claims subways ridership is down 60% even so.  This rate they won't survive long.

3380/81 (retired)

Well there goes 3381 and its R30 blind end...

3444/3777 were always stalking me on (J)(Z) service. I would be on the bus heading home or to school and they would go right over me. I also found out that they did their time in refuse service for quite a while until being pulled back into revenue service.

Imo these two sets should have been preserved, 3381 for its R30 blind end and the mis-mate for pretty obvious reasons as well as their long history in revenue and refuse services.

they probably will still save a few phase I R32 pairs even after all are retired. some will probably go to work service to replace the redbirds (logical because the 32s are structurally in better condition and there are already ten cars in work service). a few will get preserved, the rest get trucked out to scrap in NJ (we have still yet to see when the latter will occur).

i'd say they might save 3354-55 or 3360-61 because they were apart of the first R32 run consist to GCT in 1964. 3380-81 still might be saved, saw that set parked in storage at 207 a few days ago not missing any components. 3444-3777 i also hope they retain, but it depends on how many pairs they want to save.

Thursday, March 19:  Is anyone else still out there???

Today, we appeared to have seven (7) R-46s and ten (10) R-179s on (C).

I think there were two R-32 trains in the bullpen from Pitkin but they didn't make it on the road.

If anyone actually SAW what might be the last (Wednesday), please sing out!

Two R32 trainsets were in service today on the C. From what I was told, today was very likely the last day.

If so, the actual last scheded R32 trip was around 9:30 going uptown.

So, R32s no more? Will there be a R42-esque final run?

If so, which line?

They're still running today. It seems every time word gets out that they're all done, they still go out the next day.

Only two sets though, the only car #s I remember:

3841 (lead) 3736-7, 3805 (N lead) 3647 (S lead. I'll have to check my camera to see what other consists are out there; expect an edit on this post soon.

There were 3 sets today, 3929 south motor, I didn't get a chance to see the north motor, since I was on 3805, but I also saw another one while I was heading uptown at 34 St.

Two R-32 trains on (C) Saturday, March 21.  Zero R-32s on (C) Sunday, March 22.

Reason for frequent consist switching is to change-out end pairs when problems arise.

It is easy to derive that the R-32s are hanging on by a thread right now.

What about the car set with it as well? (6346-6350)

TBD, it's all speculation right now what exactly happens to that set. 6347 is burnt to a crisp tho.

Unfortunately with the covid situation, I expect an unceremonious retirement for the R32's.  They could keep a set to do a final trip like the R42, but that would have to wait many weeks or even months since it would be considered a gathering.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised.  The (NYCT) has done this before- the R14s, R15s, R21s and R22s were all swept under the rug when they retired essentially... it is what it is.

Does anyone have pictures of the damage?
