2)The and lines won't need R188's, their R142/A's would only be 18 to 20 years old around 2016-2022

 

3)Why should the and get hand me down R142/A's? Most likely whatever train that replaces the R62/A will go to the and lines.

The reason why the ,,, got R142 Because they Had the Oldest cars R26-R28 while the , had R62 & R62A. The Had a Mix of Both so they Killed 2 birds with 1 stone replaced the , Cars to give the new Cars untill the Next order Comes Around.

To answer your question about the R188, it will be only for the line. There will be no swap, and they will be have CBTC technology (just like the R143 and R160/160A). The is next in line for CBTC, and that is why they will be going there. They aren't ordering anything additional for any other line(s). Besides the trains on the 7 have another 20-25 years to go, so TA will end up with a large surplus of A Div. trains, and will just send the Bomb R62As, elsewhere.........
