Amtrak suitcase symbol

I see a suitcase symbol with a red slash over it. Does this mean that I can't bring any suitcases on my train?

It just means you can't check bags. You can still bring it as a carry-on provided it meets the size requirement and it's just the one. (Or is it two? Idk check Amtrak's carry-on policy).

being able to check a bag is dependent on the ability to load and unload said bag, something Deerfield Beach doesn't have. The nearest station that does is Fort Lauderdale.

You're allowed to carry two. I asked an attendant at ALB, and she said if it's two backpacks like the one I was carrying, it's okay. (the backpack was a Russell 20 gallon barrel backpack, which I got for $20 at Marshall's.
