There is a dire need for at least another trunk line & and the eastern portions of the borough literally have squat..... The demand is clearly there for such additions/improvements..... A transit desert though is a much broader term.... Ridgewood is the furthest thing from a transit desert & Glendale is more "car country" than it is transit dependent..... The Rockaways (well, east of the Hammel's Wye anyway) is more of a transit desert than Glendale is..... There's more to a transit desert than just a basic lack of provided service; you also have to take into consideration the need for public transportation; how outstanding that need is.... If you can afford a car, you can get around without public transportation....
