(THOMAS LEVINSON/NEW YORK DAILY NEWS) The No. 2 train really lived up to its name Monday. Subway service was stinkier than usual during the morning commute — because two cars were covered in feces, according to tweets by grossed out straphangers. At least five commuters tweeted that service was suspended around 9:30 a.m. due to the disgusting fecal fiasco. A source also contacted the Daily News regarding the mess that was announced by the conductor of a 2 train at the Borough Hall station in Brooklyn. “We are evacuating the train as it’s been reported two train cars contain feces,” one commuter, Sara Cavolo, tweeted. “Ladies and gentleman this train is going out of service... it’s covered in feces. We apologize for the inconvenience,” another commuter, Marcy Schwerin, tweeted, apparently relaying the conductor’s announcement. The MTA did not immediately have any details regarding the scatological subway service. If it were a one-time thing, I'd say it isn't news, but since it has been re-occurring I decided to post it. I think folks need to know and they should be on the lookout. I wonder if it's one individual or several... It could just be homeless folks doing it though. Nevertheless I do think it points to a sign that we need more enforcement on our subways. I've been on social media and I've seen all sorts of disturbing things posted that people now feel totally free to do on the subways because there's no enforcement. There's a video floating around of a guy smoking on perhaps a train and passing his cigarette around for others to smoke, and this went on for several stops, and another of a naked guy on the supposedly dancing for several stops. That's how bad reliability is - people will ride in shit rather than trust to send another train. Oh, and my headline would've been: "The #2 train is even shittier today." It's the only way you'll get a somewhat empty car these days, otherwise they're packed. I've managed to cut down my need for the subway to maybe three times a week and mainly for short distances. I'm not trying to be literal here, but I was under the impression that it was just one glob of shit on the seat or on the floor or something (which of course isn't anything to scoff at).... But 2 separate cars? This could easily be classified as bioterrorism..... Growing up, I would refrain from riding in (what used to be known as) the "hot car" during the summers & couldn't see how in the hell people would sit in those things....
