ventaak Posted June 11, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2018 Someone told me if you apply for a job with the MTA, sometimes they will contact you with an offer for a different job. For example, if you apply for track worker, you might receive a call back with an offer for a cleaner position. Is this true? If it is, would it be a good strategy to apply for every exam, even the ones you aren't qualified for, in an attempt to get an offer?
Bmpo7 Posted June 13, 2018 Share #2 Posted June 13, 2018 Yes, it happens. It isn't the norm, but it does happen. Yes, you should take every exam you qualify for (not sure about those you don't qualify for).
jose75 Posted August 23, 2018 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2018 Yes, it happens. I was on an old list for Train Conductor. I received a letter from MTA last year that the Train Conductor list was expiring and they were offering me a job as a cleaner.
