Yeah, the NJT #99 is indirect....

However, both end terminals of this proposed route of yours are awkward places to end a bus; ending it at LRT Park av won't be enough of a draw (should be extended to Bloomfield av to even have a chance) & ending it at Bergen/Chancellor on the other end is just ....

LOFL.... I seriously question demand for an Irvington - Lower Newark express route to Lower Manhattan....

....and 5 BPH at that on this express route? On top of 6 BPH during the rush on that local route of yours proposed above? On top of another 6-7 BPH along the NJT #99?

You can't be serious with all this Bergen st service.

1. I couldn't find a proper terminal down the Weequahic area. I didn't want it to go down Elizabeth & Hillside and keep it in Newark territory. Your right about have it go to Bloomfield Av instead of Park Av.

2. The express was supposed to work as both a one-seat ride to Lower Manhattan and as an alternative to the overcrowded PATH.

The other routes do have a purpose.

The Bergen/Avon route goes from Irvington Terminal to East Orange along Avon Av and up Bergen St. Provide Bergen St and Avon Av customers service to Irvington and East Orange.

The Bergen St route is the more frequent one as it goes from Homestead Pk to Bergen along West Runyon and up Bergen to W Market St and follows the #21 from there.

You brought up a good point about the frequently. So I decreased the Express and Bergen/Avon to being 15 min instead of 12 min. Which would equal.

Bergen/1st St: 6 BPH

Bergen St Exp and Avon/Bergen: 4 BPH

Bergen St:7 BPH

Which in total equal of buses combines every 1-5 minutes on the stretch of Bergen from W Market to Avon Av.

Maybe it seems I overserved the Bergen St corridor LOL. Thanks for comments and the criticisms.

Also the NJT #99 will be rerouted to stay on Norfolk St instead of going on Bergen from S Orange to W Market and then back on Norfolk.

The Bergen/1st St route would fill in the University Hosp servive lost by the #99 reroute.

The question remains, is there enough demand for a route to East Orange via Avon Ave and Bergen St... doesn't the #90 &, to an extent, the #96 go from Irvington to East Orange?
