Version 4 is so dope and I'm gonna continue to say it. They need to go with that option more. Is it expensive or something? I wouldn't be surprised. I really wish all buses had it. It should be the standard or local buses in NYC with all of the close stops.

Can you show me which one is Version 4? I only recall 2 and 3.

Does the whole 266-319 (original West Farms batch) have screens installed at the time?

Having driven 240, 243, 245, 248, and 410 in the last two weeks, I can say they all have the same information signs as the rest of our C40 fleet

Who reported 456? I was on that bus not too long ago and it didn’t have any screens.

Also, I believe 338 and 7124 were reported as I have them on my person list.

Looks like it was reported a while ago, I tried looking back but I couldn't find anything. It's been on the roster since July. I'll remove it on the next page.

What person list are you talking about? I've been looking at those little rosters you post In this thread but I didn't see 338 or 7124 on them.

Edit: Just scrolled through, I originally missed Around the Horn's post about 338. That's marked now for the next update.

As @Around the Horn said, the screens I generally find aren't working. And personally I prefer the wide screens (TTC seem to have their act together).

I personally have nothing against Version 3, however I can see why everyone likes Version 2 a lot more. It makes more sense and it’s less confusing than Version 3.
You’re probably riding the 2009 Hybrids because the ones on the 2015 XD40 and 2017 XN40 buses work well (at least in my experience).

Mix Nex-Gens &  XDs. The Hybrids are pretty glitchy, the Xcels are hit-miss.....

As reputable as Clever Devices is, it feels as if the problems regarding their screens (on our buses at least) are more of a result of how they're installed compared to that of other transit agencies. Often times it's the video input of the CD screens on the Xcelsiors that tend to go out despite the audio still playing perfectly fine. Personally havent encountered problems on the NG screens but i wouldn't be surprised about those having their own share of bugs.

Honestly, we should've gone with simpler LED boards like those seen on the 38xx NGs for the M34 SBS during their first few years in service as well as those installed over on the ex-LIB/NICE bus fleet but a pipe dream can only go so far...

They are the best IMO and do not take forever to announce the next stop like the Vianovas (Version 2).

My only gripe with the Luminators is that if they reach a stop that is located far enough from the actual intersection it's posted for (or wherever it's pinned to on BusTime), they tend to announce the next stop prematurely while the Vianova or Clever Devices setups typically never have those problems.

In a perfect world, whoever programmed the Vianova TTS should've done away with the "Next Stop" and "This Stop is..." portion of the announcements and just deliver the stop names+transfers instead just to cut down on time (especially when running on local routes with stops being spaced so near to each other).
